Hannah Smith comes to San Marcos following stops at Georgia Southern, Iowa Western Community College, and most recently Lamar University.

Prior to Iowa Western, Smith was a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern where she started in June of 2019. She is also an alumnus of Georgia Southern as she played her final two collegiate years at the university. In the fall of 2020, Smith was named the interim head coach of the Eagles where she guided the program for the entire season.
 
Prior to her coaching career, Smith had a stellar playing career as an Eagle where she tallied 20 starts and started in each game her senior season at center back for the Eagles. Before her playing time at GSU, Smith was a standout midfielder at Iowa Western Community College where she led them to an appearance in the NJCAA National Championship. In her sophomore season, she helped the program to consistently stay in the Top 5 of the NSCAA Top 25 polls. She was also named to an all-conference selection as well as being named a NSCAA Second Team All-American.
 
Hannah undergraduate at Georgia Southern in 2018 and is currently working towards her master's degree in Sports Management at Georgia Southern.
